Re-opening survey for current HTLA families

HTLA Parents,

A lot has been going on in the education sector with respect to COVID-19.  Educators have started to get their first dose of a vaccination!  As I am sure you have heard, the state of California is in the process of figuring out how to get students back on campuses this semester.  There are many confusing details and still some unanswered questions, but we do know enough so that we can start to finalize our plans to have HTLA students back on campus.  One of the most important pieces of information is something we need from you before we can move forward.  We need to know if you are willing to have your child return to campus at some point this semester or would you rather have them stay with remote learning through June.  Please answer the following survey, one per student, so we can get an estimated count.

Now the following:

1)      Your child’s (and our staff’s) safety is of paramount importance.  Any plan we develop will be based on county, state, and federal COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols.

2)      Even when students return to campus, it will not be all students every day.  Students will still have multiple days of remote learning each week.

3)      It is likely that some parts of our curriculum will remain remote through the end of the semester.

4)      Soon, we will ask for your final decision as to whether your child will remain with remote or will come back to campus.  That decision will be binding from that point through the end of the semester.  THIS IS NOT THAT FINAL DECISION. This is us trying to get better numbers so we can make our plans.

5)      We will hold informational sessions to give everyone complete information before we ask you to make a binding decision.
