DELAY OF SEMESTER 2 TOTHURSDAY JANUARY 13th

Dear HTLA Community,

DELAY OF SEMESTER 2 THURSDAY JANUARY 13th
Thank you so much for your effort over the past few days to come to campus so your student can participate in the COVID-19 PCR Baseline Test.

Despite your effort, we've been impacted by a significant delay in receiving the test results. Because of the widespread infection of Omicron and the huge number of tests that are being taken daily throughout Los Angeles, we're not receiving test results in 24-48 hours as we had before. Presently, it's taking 4 days to get the results. Because of the delay in getting test results, we need to postpone the first day of semester two. Instead of starting on Tuesday, January 11th, we are moving the start date to Thursday, January 13th.

We will be updating our calendar and using canceling some of the pupil-free days later on in the year.

We Require a Negative PCR Test - Not an Antigen Test

No School
January 10th, 11th, and 12th.

COVID TESTING FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 10th

We are asking that families come and bring their child to test on either Tuesday or Wednesday from 8 AM to 10 AM.

COVID PROTOCALS

Weekly testing will continue for all students and employees through the month of January.

Per LA Dept of Public Health masking will be required at all times, indoors and outdoors. It is strongly recommended that all students wear well-fitting, non-cloth masks with a nose wire. ( Research suggests that N95, FFP2, and surgical masks are more effective in protecting an individual from Omicron than a typical cloth mask. While we will not be mandating a particular type of mask, please consider upgrading your child’s face coverings, if possible). Surgical masks are available to all students for free.

Daily health screening is required for all who enter school campuses (students please continue to use StudentSquare).

VACCINATIONS AND BOOSTERS

Please encourage all your neighbors, loved ones, friends, and family to receive the COVID-19 vaccine along with the Booster for all eligible individuals. Vaccines are the most critical tool to protect our community from both Omicron and future variants.  Boosters are now available for anyone over the age of 12.

As always thank you for your understanding,

Colleen Molina
