9th Grade Projects

2022 - 2023
The Great Wall of LA

The 9th grade class of 2026 has been busy this semester. They have traveled to the Great Wall of LA to get inspired for their largest project this year. It was a cross-curricular project, meaning the freshman class teachers joined together to create a project that the students could work on in every class, each part unique to that specific class. Students had to interview HTLA staff members and ask them questions. From the answers they were given, they had to then create an animation/art piece in their Digital Art class. This half of the project made up the Great Wall of HT-LA. In their English class, they were then given a specific time period in history that they needed to write about. In Spanish class, they had to translate it. This made up the Great Wall of LA.
 XYMe Project

Students put their math skills to work during their XYMe project. They were required to take a photo of themselves, place it on a wooden slab, and graph all of the points on their faces. This would then turn out to be an outline of their faces using only nails, wood, and yarn.
