hi my name is Justin tomorrow my name is Alex Engel and my elective is speech and debate I think speech and debate is really good for learning about social skills especially and I think that's something people have a lot of trouble with when they're talking to people they don't know or meet for the first time it's really good that you know what you're doing you know what you're saying you have the confidence and what you're saying that I had to say and no one really interrupts my experience in speech and debate has been pretty positive I'm already have a pretty good relationship with public speaking I don't feel very nervous or uncomfortable doing it so I think it's fun to have a class that kind of pushes me to do it a little bit more I'm going to experience things that I haven't had before like I don't have really self confidence while talking to like people and crowds and I usually start breaking down and probably like getting emotional speech given by someone else and I chose the Joker we didn't improve speech recently I was the first one to go out and apparently set up pretty good example so that was pretty nice today people were giving their info they were given a word and they had to create a 1-minute speech about this word right now we're doing an impromptu speeches so you have to make something up totally on the spot you have no time to prepare anything you're not allowed to write anything down and just give it a word and then you make a speech about it and I think that's something that might be a little challenging for me so I like that we're learning that right now and I think a lot of the classes just about shutting off like fear about public speaking or going in front of people will take me to answer would be yes I do I think that they will be very good for interviews when it comes to do work or maybe even College I mean how you hold yourself in a professional setting talking to a lot of people if they would be pretty helpful in the future my favorite part about the cause is probably some of the topics we have is pretty interesting I really like our guy people I really like the speeches I really like presenting in front of everybody I really like improving cuz we looked at in class today and I just like talking and something that people are sometimes scared of is how people are going to view them when they go up on stage but you don't really have to get that nervous out of you because when you're put on the spot you don't really have time to react so it's really good that when you go up on stage that you got it all out of you you don't stutter you were presented you know what you doing you know what you're saying I think that the still doing his speech and debate take us a long way in life even Beyond just Publix begin I think that even if your job doesn't directly involve public speaking or other aspects of your life don't you still learn a lot of skills that are very helpful it's a lot of leadership skills being able to take control of the room toxic people to be captivating be engaging and also be very assertive and talking to people and having those uncomfortable situations where you have to make you know maybe fire someone to have them comfortable talks with that's when the speech and debate skills really come in handy and I think that's a very good practice to take into other parts of your life whether or not you're doing a lot of public speaking skills that I think I'm learning and hope to learn more about is how to present myself in front of an audience specially since we're going to have peel well that's always fun part of the year so I hope get better at those I just generally talk in front of an audience better and memorizing speeches and stuff to talk about something I want to learn from this class I think the spell is overall goal for students in this class is to have everyone become very comfortable with public speaking being able to go in front of an audience and have them walk away feeling like they learn something or they understood something on have the speaker actually you know talk to people engage them is there a tension and also to be able to organize ideas in a very clear way she's taught us some basic stuff for likes teaching and how what not to do and what to do you should focus on the posture focus on the way you're speaking basically different ways that you can talk to people to make it not boring and basically make people enjoy what you're talkin about rather than being playing and Lunatone so I had to think what misspelled his main goal for teaching fanfiction debate probably be to gain confidence and memorizing how to represent ourselves in front of everyone from how to get our idea crossed that we believe in that could change your mind. how can you gain respect for other side of an argument I think that's really important also to go through in general with your life and I'm really glad his fellows teaching us this
